Join Icicle TV as we check out Wenatchee’s local art scene.  Just like the name says, Wenatchee First Fridays happen every month on the first Friday at the month.  The event showcases the vibrant arts and culture of downtown Wenatchee.  Galleries open their doors, artists are on hand, and downtown cafes host live music while serving up food and drinks.

The upcoming First Friday on March 2, 2012 will feature watercolors by Eleanor Graves at Lila Putnam Gallery, artwork from local high school teachers at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center, and impressionist works by Russian artist Yury Volkov at 4 South.

Kevin Jones, local folk-rock musician, will be performing at Caffe Mela begining at 8pm.  Caffe Mela will also be featuring artwork by Jan Cook mack and Nick Penney. Join Two Rivers Gallery as they celebrate their third anniversary with wine from White Heron Cellars of Quincy, Washington, music from Kirk Lewellen, and works by many of their emerging and professional artists. Check out Lemolo Cafe for artwork by David Vasquez.
Admission is free and festivities run from 5pm to 8pm.  Maps for the event can be found at all participating businesses.

As you stroll downtown, take time to enjoy the many permanent public artworks provided by Art on the Avenues, including “Remergence” by Carole Turner, a 2012 permanent collection purchase. Thanks to a dedicated group of art lovers in the valley, the downtown core of Wenatchee now boasts 83 sculptures for the enjoyment of the public.
