A mudslide has closed the Icicle Creek road, just past the 4th of July trail head. The slide occurred in the channels cut from the large mudslides 2 years ago. Icicle TV put on their mudslide boots and waded into the muck to visit the scene.

Forest Service and local residents survey the damage to Icicle Creek Road

The damage to the road seems to be minor, but the culvert under the road is blocked by debris and will have to be cleared. Forest Service officials are working to re-open the road as soon as possible to allow the people temporarily trapped above the slide to get out of the canyon. Plans to  bring in a backhoe to clear a lane are in the works, stay tuned.
