Leavenworth’s Oktoberfest kicks off today!  The festival includes three weekends of beer, brats, parades, music, and celebration in downtown Leavenworth.  The official tapping of the keg will occur tomorrow at 1:00 pm, following the parade at noon, but Icicle Brewing and Munchen Haus had a parade of their own today, marching down Front Street and ending at Munchen Haus.  The march was completed with the tapping of a mini-keg of their award winning Oktoberfest Lager.

The smoke has cleared from the forest fires that have plagued the valley and skies are blue, making it a great time to visit Leavenworth.  Oktoberfest activities take place at the Festhalle, event tents, and many different locations throughout town.  For festival details and schedules go to: www.leavenworthoktoberfest.com.
